Basically,
the article news is saying that Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao intended to build
trust between China and India to promote friendship.
According
to the comparison of Hofstede dimension between China and India, there are equal
on power distance index (PDI and they are both having large PDI which further
indicates that both countries have high acceptance of inequality in power among
people.
China
has lower value of Individualism index (IDV) compared to India. China has collectivism
which provides focus on family and workgroup. India society is more to Individualism which provides
focus on self-reliance.
Besides,
both countries have identical masculinity value where they are favorable
towards achievement, heroism, work centrality and material success.
Uncertainty
Avoidance Index is similar to both countries which is equally low. There are
great willingness to accept risk and less emotional to resistance to change to
both countries.
Lastly,
China society shows large long-term orientation that pragmatism, thrift and
perseverance. Whereas, India society that chase immediate returns and they are
competitive and price- focus.
